“The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong in behalf of those whose hearts are blameless toward Him…” 2 Chronicles 16:9
God is searching for one to show Himself strong to. He is roaming and searching for one that would be blameless and humble before him--- imperfect, but steadfast after His heart.
Most times we have this idea that we have to be perfect before we can come to God and have the life that He called us to. We think that we have to get all of our pieces in place… and THEN He will use us. We believe that once we have it all together, true happiness will be found and life can really begin. I have found in my life that this is the furthest thing from the truth.
The majority of the time I tell God all of the things that I am not. I remind myself of all of the mistakes that I have made, and wonder how I could ever come to Him with a truly blameless heart.
If we were perfect, there would be no need for God. We would coast through life full of pride, thinking that we have it all figured out, with the belief that we can live with out Him. The truth is that even when we are at our strongest and things are all in their place, we are still weak if we haven’t considered God. He comes and strengthens the places where we are lacking, and makes us complete, and the best part is that after He has worked all things out for good, He can then use it for HIS glory.
I know that I am not perfect. I am nothing with out God. All I have is my heart and it’s desires, which ultimately are to “do what is right, love mercy, and walk humbly…” (Micah 6:8). I make mistakes, I behave poorly, I still have a lot to learn… but my heart is truly devoted to the things of God. I still have a long list of things that God has asked me to work on, but I know that little by little, with a heart devoted to Him, change will come.
If you struggle with the idea that you have to be perfect before God will accept you, be encouraged that He is waiting to show Himself strong to you. He sent His Son to die on a cross for YOU, to make right all of the things that are wrong. You may be a huge mess, and doubtful that He could love, or use you for His glory… but the truth is that you are the perfect candidate. Keep your heart blameless towards him, and He will show himself strong, that is a promise! In a world full of let downs, God always keeps His word. He is faithful and strong, and He is not done with you yet!
